I am running the New York City Marathon because it is one of the greatest possible athletic feats known to man. I also have the privilege of running this race in my new home city, with many of my friends and family. Although the race may be approximately 26 miles and take about 5 hours, the journey to complete a marathon last months and involves training for hundreds of miles. I was recently recommended a charity by friends, and upon contacting Lead the Way and learning about their objectives and beliefs, I knew I could not find a better cause. I am privileged to be running for the U.S. Army Rangers who have died, been disabled, or who are currently serving in harms way around the world. Hope to see you on race day!
